Planning complex cases together – with clear communication and referral back
Complex cases often benefit from collaboration. We support referring colleagues with defined questions involving reconstructive planning, implant dentistry, tissue management or complex prosthodontics.
An important principle for us is that the patient remains your patient. The scope of co-treatment, documentation and referral back are agreed transparently.
What does specialist collaboration mean?
A referral does not mean that a patient has to change their primary dental practice. Instead, specialist collaboration addresses a clearly defined question together – for example a complex implant procedure, reconstructive planning or an independent second opinion.
For colleagues in Basel and the surrounding region, transparent communication, clear documentation and coordinated referral back are central. The aim is collaboration in which responsibilities remain clear and the patient experiences treatment as a coordinated process.
Possible reasons for referral
Complex treatment planning or an independent second opinion.
Implant surgery, bone augmentation or complex prosthodontic planning.
Implant complications and peri-implant problems.
Complex tooth wear and bite reconstruction.
Aesthetically demanding reconstructive cases.
How collaboration can be organised
Depending on your preference, we can provide only diagnostics, selected surgical or prosthodontic steps, or the entire specialist treatment phase. Findings and relevant records are reported back in a structured way.
Referral back as a principle
After the agreed treatment has been completed, general dental care returns to the referring practice unless otherwise agreed.
